Volunteering on Nutrition Projects with Projects Abroad
As a volunteer on a nutrition project, you will work alongside qualified professionals to educate individuals and communities in the importance of diet for health and development. A particularly key target are the mothers and children who live in these poor communities. They are often reliant on subsistence farming and do not have access to a wide variety and quantity of food. You will also participate in nutrition related activities including workshops and the development of food and supplement hand-outs.
As you will be working in a developing country, you will sometimes see the sad and shocking effects of malnutrition. What you will also experience is the dedication and drive of NGOs and other organisations and individuals who aim to improve the quality of lives of many vulnerable people. Volunteering on one of our Nutrition projects will provide you with a worthwhile experience and have a positive impact on the communities you will be involved with.
At most of our Nutrition Projects, you will need language skills and/or a certain level of experience before you can join. If this is the case, the specific project page will tell you. For some programs, we also require you to be above the age of 18. Please note that you need to be a minimum of 18 years old to join projects in Samoa.
If you are under 18 years of age, we recommend taking a look at our Medicine & Healthcare High School Specials for teenagers.
