Where we are based in Costa Rica
We’re based in either Heredia or Barra Honda National Park. We have dedicated full-time staff in both locations, so you’ll have plenty of support no matter where you’re based.
Heredia
Most of our projects are based here. The city is located in the heart of Costa Rica’s coffee-growing country. It has a large student population with an active cultural and social scene. It is close to the capital city of San Jose.
You can easily visit the impressive Poas and Irazu volcanoes on a day-trip from Heredia. There are many other popular tourist destinations as well, like Arenal volcano and Monteverde cloud forest. These are just a bus ride away.
Barra Honda
Our Conservation Project in Costa Rica is based in Barra Honda National Park. You’ll live and work at the wildlife reserve, which is about a 25-minute drive from the nearest town.
This location is perfect for nature lovers who want to take a break from a busy life. There will be plenty of free time to explore and have fun. Go on scenic hikes through lush forests, or play board games with your fellow volunteers. If you’re more adventurous, the network of underground caves and caverns is a must.
