International Business Internships and Work Experience Abroad in India

Our Business Project in India will see you working on an international internship with an Indian company in one of the most exciting economies in the world today!
India is recognized as the world’s second fastest growing major economy and it’s predicted that it will eclipse China by 2010. Projects Abroad can place you at the very heart of this!
There are many international internship opportunities for those who wish to study or work within one of the key sectors that India specializes in. Whether you are on a gap year and looking to be accepted into the business school at university or are trying to break into a fast paced business sector, a Business Internship in India offers access to international work experience that will help you stand out from the crowd.
International Work Experience Opportunities in the Business Sector with Projects Abroad
All international business interns in India have a choice of locations. As the country’s largest city – with an estimated population of over 13 million – Mumbai (formerly Bombay) is one of the most exciting places in the world. The city offers a wealth of opportunity to anyone looking to get some cutting edge international business experience.

We work with a wide range of companies, from traditional primary and secondary industries to the rapidly expanding tertiary sector. Experience in the areas of Indian Finance and Business Consultancy will greatly enhance any resume.
Alternatively, you can be placed in one of a number of smaller businesses in the south of India. Here we work in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, each offering something very different in terms of cultural experience. On one of our international internships in India, you could work in many areas of business, including textiles, catering and accountancy.
These international internships are perfect if you want a bigger role to play in the day-to-day operations of an organization. It is a world away from the hustle and bustle of central Mumbai, but no less impressive as a consequence. Many interns decide they wish to split their experience between the two extremes. If this is the case, then we request that you spend at least a month in each.
Working on an International Business Internship in India
As an international intern on one of our business internships, you can provide effective and constructive help working on a variety of projects. During the internship, volunteers are expected to be punctual, professional and hard working. You will be required to work an average of 35 hours per week, usually Monday-Friday.
When you arrive at work on your first day, you will be assigned a supervisor who will be able to advise and support you during your internship. Of course you will also have Projects Abroad staff on hand to support you throughout the duration of your internship.
The work you do will depend on the internship, but be prepared for a challenge! You will get involved with the day to day activities of the office, whether that is contacting different clients, working with business support teams, researching for current or future projects, putting together portfolios, attending meetings, or working on set briefs!
However, you will also need to be flexible as the culture is likely to be somewhat different from what you might expect back home; there can’t be many jobs in North America where people take breaks to make an offering at the local temple. Also, be prepared to get used to the taste of sweet Chai tea!
