North American Personnel
Projects Abroad Inc., which has offices in New York City and Toronto, is responsible for helping Americans and Canadians pick out the projects that might suit them. They also help spread the word about our projects by managing contacts with high schools, universities, student groups and gap year advisors.
![]() | Tom Pastorius - Head of Pacific Recruitment Tom manages recruitment in the Americas, Asia and Australasia. He graduated from Princeton University and he has visited a number of our destinations - he's always eager to get out and see another part of the world. On the weekends, Tom enjoys playing dodgeball and jogging in Central Park. |
![]() | Robert Levine - Director, Projects Abroad Canada Rob began his adventures with Projects Abroad back in 2005 when he helped create our Drama Placement in Romania. After returning to Brasov several times to cultivate the program, he has come to consider the country his second home. An Ottawa native (go Senators!), he now lives in Toronto where he runs our exclusive Canadian office. In life, Rob cherishes two very different, but equally essential pursuits: theatre and maple sugar candies. |
![]() | Will Harper - Director, Projects Abroad USA Will was a volunteer back in the summer of 2003, when he set up a program that took orphans to important historic sites throughout Romania. He has also spent a summer in Central Asia researching his senior thesis and received a B.A. in the History of Art from Yale University. Will likes to play rugby and visit museums in his free time. |
![]() | Allison Kean - Program Advisor Having grown up in Timmins, a city in Northern Ontario, Allison learned the trick to staying warm during the cold Canadian winters - travelling to warmer climates! On her quest for warmer winters, she spent time volunteering on a building project in Costa Rica as well as at an orphanage in Peru. In her free time, Allison enjoys making crafts, especially any craft involving construction paper, sparkles and/or glue. |
![]() | Christian Clark - Program Advisor Christian originally comes from New Hampshire, the state with a little bit of everything and a lot of lovely nothing. After college he moved to Japan to teach English, where he once received the response to introducing himself: “I am...Buddhist.” Christian was introduced to Projects Abroad during a trip to Nepal and after completing his Masters in Irish Studies at NYU he joined the Projects Abroad team in the US office. He loves snow and will gladly face – and probably lose to – anyone in any sporting event. |
![]() | Theresa Ball - Program Advisor Theresa recently returned from her first trip with Project’s Abroad. She spent 3 months in Romania participating in the Archaeology program. Theresa majored in Art History which provides her with a basis to annoy friends and even complete strangers with lengthy monologues on the history and importance of art. In addition to traveling and art, she also enjoys reading, horseback riding, and meeting new people. |
