Group Trips for High Schools
International school trips that shape who students become
The right overseas trip doesn’t just take students somewhere extraordinary; it changes how they see themselves and the world. At Projects Abroad, the learning is built into the plan from the very start. We handle every logistical detail and provide a robust safety net, ensuring that while your students are stepping out of their comfort zones, they are never without support.
Find the right program for your curriculum:
- Conservation & Environment: Work alongside professionals on vital wildlife and environmental monitoring, from sea turtle surveys to rainforest preservation.
- Community Development: Show students the power of collaboration through locally-led education and infrastructure projects.
- Medicine & Healthcare: Inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals with clinical exposure in real-world environments that simply cannot be replicated at home.
- Learning Service: Expansive journeys that expose students to the essence of the country – immersing them in local cultures and community-led projects.
- Expeditions: Push students beyond their perceived limits through challenging treks that build resilience, independence, and team cohesion.
Opportunities for individual students
Outside of our group programs, we offer High School Programs for students aged 14–18 who wish to travel independently. These are structured, peer-supported trips that allow students to gain global experience and earn optional academic credit without the need for a school-led group. If you’d like to arrange for us to come and speak with your students at a careers fair or presentation, please get in touch.

Why choose Projects Abroad for your school trip?
Genuine, measurable student growth
Students who travel with us return home measurably different – more confident, more resilient, and clearer about their future direction. This isn’t a happy by-product; it is what we design for.
- 93% of students developed a broader understanding of global issues.
- 97% of teen participants became more independent.
- 89% felt more confident in their own abilities.
Academically grounded itineraries
Every program is built around our Global Citizenship Framework (GCF). Aligned with UNESCO standards, the GCF tracks growth across six core competencies: awareness, connection, empathy, responsibility, collaboration, and action. We provide the data and evidence you need to showcase tangible learning outcomes to your senior leadership and parent community.
We do the heavy lifting – you focus on your students
We’ve been working with schools for over 30 years and we know how much teachers already have on their plates. Organizing an overseas trip shouldn’t mean doubling your workload. We carry the administrative and planning burden so you can arrive as an educator, not a logistics manager.
Approval-ready documentation: We provide full teacher handbooks, safeguarding policies, and detailed risk assessments ready for governor sign-off.
Zero-hassle logistics: From vetted accommodation and three meals a day to all in-country transport, we manage the entire itinerary.
In-school support: We help you launch the trip with parent presentations, promotional materials, and a dedicated booking platform to streamline student sign-ups.
Safety and accreditations you can trust
Safety is the foundation that makes student independence possible. We provide the highest level of institutional security for your peace of mind.
External accreditations: We hold the highest industry accreditations for safety, with British-standard expedition safety awards.
Permanent local teams: Our team live and work in-destination year-round, providing 24/7 support.
Industry-leading staff-to-student ratios: We maintain a minimum 1:8 staff-to-student ratio, increasing to 1:4 on our more involved expedition programs, exceeding industry standards.
Designed to complement your curriculum
Our programs connect directly to the frameworks and qualifications your school already works with.
- IB CAS – Satisfies the Creativity, Activity, and Service components, with structured CAS reflection documentation for student portfolios included.
- Round Square IDEALS – International exposure, environmental understanding, adventure, leadership, and service are built into every program.
- Week Without Walls – We build around your existing dates and objectives for Week Without Walls and Experiential Learning Week.
Additional academic credit
Students have the opportunity to obtain additional academic credit, strengthening their personal statements and college applications.
Participants can earn three pre-college academic credits by completing a Future Global Leaders and Specialists Course, accredited by Greensboro College, alongside their Projects Abroad program.
Accessible pricing and free teacher places
Prices vary by destination and duration, but a typical two-week program starts from $2,105 per student (excluding flights). This includes one free staff place for every nine students.
