What to expect

The centrepiece of this expedition is a four-day trek through the Andes, culminating in a breathtaking view over Machu Picchu - one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. You’ll journey through terraced valleys, past remote villages, and along ancient stone paths, following in the footsteps of the Inca civilisation. It’s a true bucket-list adventure that will challenge your perception of your physical abilities, and create lifelong memories.

You’ll also get to experience a short trek to the spectacular Vinicunca - known as Rainbow Mountain - a unique and unmissable part of the Peruvian landscape.

But this expedition offers more than just a trek. You’ll contribute to important community infrastructure projects in the Sacred Valley, from restoring traditional masonry and safeguarding archaeological sites to renovating schools and creating inspiring spaces for young students. These projects help develop both practical skills and cultural understanding, whilst making a tangible difference to the development of rural communities.

Throughout your journey, you’ll experience the warmth and richness of Peruvian life: take part in cooking classes, practice your Spanish with locals, share games and stories with children, and reflect on your experiences over traditional meals.

Why choose Peru for your Expedition

The magnetic pull of Machu Picchu makes this Peru Expedition a standout choice for school groups seeking both challenge and discovery. Few experiences rival the trek across the Andes. It is demanding yet deeply rewarding, culminating in the unforgettable sight of Machu Picchu at sunrise.

But the expedition is more than just a journey to an iconic landmark. Peru offers rich opportunities for cultural learning and hands-on service, with traditions woven into the rural villages you’ll explore and support. Community projects here focus on improving infrastructure and preserving heritage, giving you the chance to get stuck into practical service work and see the real impact of your efforts.
