The Care & Community program in Cambodia combines working with underprivileged children in one of Cambodia's many care centers with some hands-on work within these communities. Volunteers will live and work in the capital city of Phnom Penh. You will stay at a guesthouse or hotel with other High School Special volunteers.
The work will involve fun educational activities with the children and your ideas for games, songs, and arts and crafts will be welcomed. You will also work on some painting and decorating projects to improve the conditions of our partner centers, which will be greatly appreciated by both the children and the local staff.
No trip to Cambodia is complete without a visit to the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat, so the weekend trip will allow you time to view several of the main temple sites.
This project is also available as a 4-week program on select dates. If you stay longer you will be able to spend more time at your placement and do more work in the community. Those joining us on the four week program will also get extra visits and activities arranged during the weekends.
You can read more detailed information about the aims of the project in our Cambodia Care Management Plan.
It has made me appreciate the little things as well as the big. To anyone that has the opportunity to take part in a High School Project I would definitely, one hundred percent urge you to take it. Read more...
