Use your summer to experience something different and give back as a volunteer on our Care & Community High School Special in Belize. This program is designed to support high school students and first-time travelers and sends you to placements where your help is needed most.
Our Care & Community Project is based in care centers and kindergartens in San Pedro. These facilities are understaffed and under-resourced, so you can make a huge difference by becoming a resource yourself! You will work directly with the children, giving them individual care and attention through activities such as reading, sports, and educational games.
You will also support the community by participating in some renovation work. With your group, you will work on painting classrooms and joining community clean-ups. This is a great way to make an immediate impact in the local community.
You can read more detailed information about the aims of the project in our Belize Care Management Plan.
During your time in Belize, you will be welcomed into the home of a host family, where you will live for the duration of the program. In the evenings and on weekends, our staff will organize social activities and weekend trips that all allow you to dive into the culture and explore the country.
This project is also available as a 4-week program on select dates. If you stay longer, you will be able to spend more time at your placement and with your fellow volunteers. You will also be taken on more weekend trips, allowing you to experience more of the local culture and do more sightseeing.
