Interning abroad in Morocco on a Projects Abroad Physical Therapy project will allow you to gain international physical therapy experience working in schools and daycare centers for children and young adults with special needs. Facilities may not be up to the standard you are used to and you will have to be creative in your approach to the job.
We work with a daycare center for children aged 3 – 12 years old who have a variety of learning and physical disabilities. The center provides a range of therapies for the children. It is a supportive environment in which to work and where the children are given the chance to thrive, including small areas with animals and gardens for the children.
Interns can also work at a school for girls with mental disabilities aged 6 – 15 years old. The goal of the school is to help the girls develop independence and be able to integrate into mainstream society.
At either of these placements, your role will be valued offering assistance the local staff to help contribute to improving the daily lives and future prospects of the children.
