Volunteer Teaching in Southeast Asia
As a Projects Abroad volunteer, you can work as a teacher in Southeast Asia. Our volunteer teachers work in elementary and high schools, assisting local teachers and leading their own classes individually or partnered with another volunteer. You will teach mostly English classes with the aim of improving student’s conversational abilities. You can also help to teach subjects like math, science, and art. Local children are eager to learn and play popular sports, so you can contribute even more by teaching some PE lessons.
Having a volunteer in the classroom is enormously beneficial for the children. The ability to speak English well is crucial and opens the door to better jobs and future opportunities. By using songs, games, and other fun interactive activities, you can help students to learn English and develop their confidence.
How Can I Volunteer to Teach in Southeast Asia?
You don’t have to be a professional teacher to join a Teaching project, nor do you need a TEFL or TESOL qualification. Anyone can volunteer as long as they have a passion for learning and a commitment to teaching children.
