Learn Spanish in Peru
Peru is a great destination for anyone interested in learning Spanish and experiencing a full cultural immersion. The Spanish Language Course offered by Projects Abroad is based in Cusco, in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The city is full of Incan heritage and opportunities for exploration and adventure and provides a unique insight into Peruvian culture.
You will have 15 hours of classes a week with a qualified teacher on a one-on-one basis. You may also be paired with another volunteer who speaks the same level of Spanish. You will learn quickly - especially because you will also have plenty of opportunities to practice your new skills while staying with your Spanish-speaking host family.
The intensive classes are tailored to suit your ability. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been learning Spanish for several years, being surrounded by the language every day will help your skills progress in leaps and bounds. After your lessons and homework, there is plenty of free time for you to explore the local area. It is easy to trek in the jungle, visit the ancient site of Machu Picchu, or enjoy white water rafting on the Urubamba River. You could take the opportunity to develop your Spanish skills further on one of our meaningful volunteer projects or internships.
Alternatively you can undertake a short 5-hour, 14-hour, or 30-hour course in Spanish. These courses are tailored to your needs and run alongside your main volunteer project. If you are planning on volunteering abroad for twelve weeks or more, you could also complete a 60-hour course alongside your volunteer experience.
