Volunteering in Europe
As an international volunteer with Projects Abroad in Europe, you will have the opportunity to explore and discover Europe. You will notice some strong Western European influences if you choose to volunteer or intern in Romania – a former Roman colony and a country currently undergoing a great deal of social and economic change.
Volunteer Programs in Europe
Projects Abroad offers a variety of programs in Europe and no matter your choice of destination or project, you will have an important role to play and your efforts will be greatly appreciated. Choose from opportunities like interning at a hospital, working at a newspaper, teaching English at a school, or even do archaeological research!
You can also choose to do volunteer work with refugees and migrants in Italy. The refugee and migrant crisis has become critical in Europe and Projects Abroad has partnered with local NGOs to ensure that refugees and migrants arriving in Italy (as well as those already there) get the help they need. We urgently need the assistance of volunteers at the Refugee Project, especially volunteers who can speak French or Arabic, and those with skills or experience in medicine and psychology.
Volunteer Opportunities in Europe
While you do volunteer work in Europe, you will also have plenty of free time to travel and tour other regions, or socialize with other volunteers. Whether you want to climb the hills around Brasov or go wine tasting outside of Chisinau, you will experience something new and yet familiar at the same time.
The experience continues from your work to your accommodation. Everyone on a volunteer placement with Projects Abroad in Europe has the opportunity to live with a local host family. You will find them incredibly welcoming and they will doubtless be eager to find out all about you and your life back home. Take plenty of photos with you and be prepared for lots of questions!
