Language Classes Abroad: Study a Foreign Language Overseas with Projects Abroad

Foreign Language Classes Overseas with Projects Abroad

Living with a host family and becoming part of the local community while overseas is a great chance to learn a language or improve your existing linguistic skills.

Learning arabic

Whether you are starting from scratch or looking to improve upon your existing language skills, our classes will enable you to learn a great deal. You can choose to just participate in a language placement, or spend a month learning the local language before joining one of our diverse volunteer programs. This enables you to get the most out of your volunteering experience, and is particularly recommended for those joining a medicine or journalism placement with a language requirement.

By taking some lessons and practicing your new linguistic skills in daily life situations, you will make good progress. Life as a volunteer is always easier when you can speak some of the local language.

Learn French, Spanish, Russian or Arabic on a Language Project Overseas

Projects Abroad offers the option of a month long intensive Language Course Placement in the following languages and destinations.

  • French – Morocco and Senegal
  • Spanish – Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico and Peru
  • Russian – Moldova
  • Arabic – Morocco

These language placements include 60 hours of personal classes per month on a one on one basis. The lessons are tailored to suit your ability and personal requirements. You will normally study 15 hours per week from Monday to Friday, which will give you plenty of time to complete homework, spend time with your local host family and practice your skills while exploring your new surroundings.

It’s also easy for you to participate in local cultural experiences through libraries, entertainment events and music.

Studying

After completing a month long Language Project you could then go on to take part in another voluntary placement where you can put your language skills to good use, like Teaching in Senegal or Arts & Crafts in Mexico.

If you want to take part in a project where a reasonable level in the local language is required, then completing a month long Language Project first can enable you to take part in another project, like Medicine in Peru or Journalism in Senegal.

Learn a Language While Volunteering on a Placement with Projects Abroad

On some placements you can learn or improve your skills in the local language by taking a language course alongside your main placement. These language courses are scheduled in the free time that you have outside of your chosen volunteer placement.

Language plus courses are available in many destinations, covering Arabic, French, Mongolian, Nepali, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Thai.
