Culture & Community Volunteer Projects Abroad

The projects in this Culture & Community section focus particularly on these two elements and place you in the heart of some of the most fascinating communities around the world.
By volunteering abroad on these projects, you will be contributing towards the preservation of some extraordinary ways of life and working with many local people to achieve a common goal.
Cambodia – Khmer Projects explore the ancient civilizations and engaging culture of modern Cambodia on our Khmer Projects. Learn some of the Khmer language, cooking and local crafts and visit the main sites of Phnom Penh and the magnificent temples at Angkor Wat. 
Jamaica – Maroon Community Project live with a traditional Maroon community in Jamaica. The Jamaican Maroons were runaway slaves who fought the British during the 18th century. Working alongside members of the Maroon community will help with a wide variety of tasks from teaching reading to cultural preservation projects. 
Mexico – Arts & Crafts learn the art of ceramics by working alongside Mexican artisans in Tlaquepaque, a district of Guadalajara. 
Mongolia – Nomad Projects live and work on the Mongolian steppe with a Nomadic family. Riding horses and camels and collecting firewood are all part of daily life in the desert.
